Cobaw provides free and confidential individual counselling for people experiencing issues related to their alcohol and other drugs use. AOD Counselling may include:
- Assessment related to use
- Goal setting around substance use and broader areas of life

- Relapse prevention strategies
- Referral to appropriate internal and external services e.g. housing support, emergency relief, withdrawal, GP and mental health support.
The support provided by this service will be based upon your needs and goals.
AOD Youth Outreach Counsellors understand that young people often have different needs and may like to access counselling in a variety of venues. Outreach counselling often occurs out of Cobaw’s building in a location comfortable for the young person such as at their home, school or a safe public space.
Our Counsellors work in a collaborative, evidence-based and non-judgmental way providing education, information, therapeutic work and practical case management where needed. With the consent of the young person, AOD Youth Outreach Counsellors can also work with parents and other loved ones as deemed appropriate.
All AOD referrals are processed through our Intake team who can be contacted by calling 1300 026 229 or visiting our main office (Monday to Friday – 10:30am to 12:30pm drop in service) at 47 High Street, Kyneton.
Intake staff can assist you in working out which services you may need to be connected to and will conduct a simple initial needs assessment.
