At Cobaw we know health issues can be complex and getting the correct diagnosis and management plan for your baby, child or adolescent will make a difference into the future. That’s why children seen by our Paediatrician are given an initial one hour appointment with two subsequent appointments made at the intake stage. All appointments with our Paediatrician and/or Paediatric Fellow are bulk billed with a GP referral.

Service Areas

Our medical practitioners provide consultations on all general paediatric issues such as asthma, constipation, newborn care, feeding issues, child and adolescent development, behavior and health. We are committed to supporting families of children who have complex needs, ensuring care is well coordinated and access to the services they need provided. We specialise in developmental and behavioural concerns including:

  • Developmental delays
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
  • Foetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder (FASD)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD)
  • Neurological conditions, specific disabilities and syndromes.

Shared Care

We work closely with GPs, tertiary hospitals and other specialists to support each child’s health and development as required. We work closely with all early childhood education and care services and schools to support each child’s learning and inclusion.

We recognise the value in improving the health of children and adolescents through taking on a community development and teaching role. We have been accredited as a “Program of Excellence in Paediatric Health” by the Royal Australian College of Physicians. We employ a full-time Advanced Training Registrar in Community Health Paediatrics who has completed all medical and paediatric exams, and works under the guidance of our Consultant Paediatrician as they complete their advanced training to become a Paediatrician.
