If you are living with a chronic lung condition you may benefit from Cobaw’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation program. In accordance with the Lung Foundation Australia’s guidelines, we offer a 6 week program including supervised exercise and education sessions in a small group setting.
Respiratory rehabilitation is strongly recommended if you have:
- Interstitial lung disease
- Pulmonary hypertension
- A recent hospital discharge with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Chronic bronchitis
- Chronic asthma
- Stable COPD
Our team of trained health professionals includes a Pulmonary Rehab Nurse, a Dietician, a Pharmacist, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. Through a coordinated and personalised approach they deliver a group exercise and education program designed to support you in managing your symptoms, improve your health and help you stay well.
The programs involve one-on-one assessment, education sessions and a personalised exercise schedule tailored to your needs.
Centre and home based program options
Our group programs take place at Cobaw Community Health, Ambulatory Care Centre at Kyneton District Hospital. However, if you’re unable to attend a group program we can offer home based programs too.

The pulmonary rehabilitation programs runs on a rolling schedule, meaning you can start your program at any stage without having to wait.
Education topics include:
- How the lungs work
- Medicines – what they do and how to use them
- How exercise can help improve your symptoms
- Nutrition and living well
- Energy conservation
- Airway clearance
- Managing breathing issues.
