Social Support and Respite

A range of Social and Respite programs designed for older people, those that are socially isolated and people with a disability, are provided by this team.

Program Details

Monday Group: A group of up to seven older women from Kyneton who travel around the area for lunches and shopping excursions.

Tuesday Group (In-House): A larger group of older men and women. Centre based activities include games, craft, gardening and gentle exercise. Lunch is provided (at a fee).

Wednesday Group (In-House): A group of about ten older people with various disabilities. Centre based activities include games, craft, gardening and gentle exercise program.

Wednesday Outing: A group of up to seven older women from Kyneton, Romsey and Lancefield who travel around the area for lunches and shopping excursions.

Thursday Outing: A group of up to seven older women from Kyneton, Malmsbury and Woodend who travel around the area for lunches and shopping excursions.

Thursday Karinya Community Group: A small group of people, both men and women, from 50-91 years young, who meet every Thursday at Karinya in Lancefield. The group goes for drives, coffee and lunch outings. This group consists of people who live at Karinya SRS.

Friday Romsey Group: A small group of men and women, ranging from 55-90 who meet fortnightly at Romsey Neighbourhood Centre for a range of activities and community events.

Weekend Respite: A group of seven, men and women, with a disability who meet the fourth Saturday of each month. The group will go out to various places locally.

Eligibility

  • People who are older and experiencing some additional support needs related to mobility or social isolation (Commonwealth Home Support Program). For more information about accessing services via My Aged Care, visit the Getting Started with My Aged Care webpage
  • Younger people with a disability (HACC Program for Younger People)
  • People with a NDIS package (talk to us about what you need)

Program Fees

Social support programs have a $7.50 per program fee, plus meal costs. If you are on an outing there will be a program fee plus cost of activity.

Costs for people under a NDIS package will be discussed on inquiry.
