Human Resources Administration Officer
I started at Cobaw in 2012 as a casual Administration Officer before commencing in a part time trainee position while completing my Certificate 4 in Business Administration. After finishing my studies I was able to continue in my Administration role in a full-time position where I was based at our Kyneton office. As well as providing support to internal staff, the role was responsible for greeting all visitors to Cobaw and dealing with queries from service users and the wider community. Over the last five years I have been fortunate to be seconded to various teams across the organisation and I now work within the Human Resources team. I have enjoyed learning about this area of the business, so much so that I have recently embarked on a double diploma in Human Resource Management and Leadership Management. I look forward to bringing the new knowledge I am learning through my studies to the organisation.
Intake Worker & AOD Counsellor
I have worked for Cobaw since 2012 and I currently have two roles within the organisation, Intake Worker for Community Services and AOD Counsellor. I come from a nursing background, both general and psychiatric nursing, and I have worked extensively in emergency departments and acute psychiatric wards. I also worked in the Middle East for 18 months and joined the Royal Australian Army Nursing Corp reaching the rank of Captain.
I love the work that I do with our clients and strive to always keep the values of the organisation in mind with the aim of delivering the best quality services centred around the client’s needs. I couldn’t do my job without my colleagues – there is such a wealth of knowledge within the organisation and staff are always happy to help and to share their knowledge.
I work as a Psychological Therapeutic Services (PTS) Practitioner and provide counselling assistance to a broad range of clients that are referred through local GPs. My educational background is in psychology and I hold a Master of Professional Psychology Practice.
I was attracted to working at Cobaw by the supportive culture within the organisation and the staff that work here. I pursued a career with the organisation following the completion of my student placement. I travel quite a distance to work in Kyneton, however the environment that is created by staff members within Cobaw makes the drive worthwhile. The most rewarding part of my job is the privilege that I get to work with clients and assist them with understanding and moving past their mental health barriers.
