Cobaw Community Health (Cobaw) in conjunction with Zoe Belle Gender Collective, is offering a two hour inclusive practice training session for healthcare professionals. Aimed at GPs, nurses, psychologists, allied health professionals and anyone who works in a healthcare setting, the training examines best practice in trans and gender diverse health. Presented by Starlady from the Zoe Belle Gender Collective, the training will explore trans and gender diverse identities, experiences and language with the aim of better supporting the healthcare pathways of community members who identify as trans and gender diverse. Macedon Ranges Shire Council has joined with Cobaw Community Health to host the eleventh annual free Christmas Day lunch at Kyneton Town Hall. The lunch will be held on Tuesday 25 December from 11.30am to 2pm. Bookings are essential for catering purposes.
Is your child in grade prep and attending school in the Macedon Ranges? We are working with Sunbury Community Health to provide a free outreach oral health screening program. Schools in the Macedon Ranges are invited to schedule a date for Sunbury Community Health's dental therapists to visit their school, discuss good oral health habits with the children and conduct dental screenings. Cobaw is proud to be one of 30 LGBTI+ community organisations and service provider signatories endorsing a new booklet ahead of the upcoming Victorian state election. The LGBTI+ Priorities booklet makes 59 recommendations for how the Victorian Government can make Victoria a fair and equal place for LGBTI+ people to live, work and raise their families. The booklet outlines LGBTI+ priorities in areas such as homelessness, family violence, education, discrimination, and ways of supporting Victorians from the bisexual, intersex, and trans and gender diverse communities.
